These are the questions boiler and hydronic company owners most often ask before working with us. The answers are short on purpose. If yours isn't here, ask it directly: the contact page explains how to reach Ali by call, text or email.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a strategy engagement cost?
Each engagement is quoted in writing after Ali understands the scope, and nothing starts until you agree. If you also want marketing carried out, HVAC.Agency plans start at $2,998 a month and websites at $3,500. Both are priced in Canadian dollars, with your province's GST/HST on top (GST and QST in Quebec).
Do I have to sign a long contract?
No lock-in applies to the marketing plans. The terms of any strategy engagement, including length and payment schedule, are written into your proposal so you know them before you agree.
How long before I see a difference?
The thinking usually takes a few weeks. Changes in your lead mix, service revenue or emergency handling typically show over one heating season, because they depend on your team putting the plan into practice.
We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this?
Many boiler owners have had that experience, often because a general HVAC agency treated boilers as one line among many. We start with your job mix, prices and capacity before any marketing, and you'll know exactly what's being done and why. We can't promise a different outcome, but the approach is different.
Who owns the website, ads and accounts?
We recommend that your domain, website, Google Business Profile and ad accounts are registered to your company. For any marketing carried out through HVAC.Agency, the ownership terms are confirmed in your written proposal before work starts.
What reports will I get?
For strategy work, a written summary of decisions and next steps. HVAC.Agency marketing plans include reporting: monthly on Starter, weekly on Growth, and custom reporting with a real-time dashboard on Elite.
Can you promise a set number of boiler leads?
No. Anyone who promises a specific number of leads or rankings is guessing. We can show you real outcomes from boiler projects Ali built and help you make sharper decisions.
Are you a boiler contractor?
No. We don't install, repair, service or inspect anything. BoilerConsultant.ca offers business and marketing consulting, not engineering, mechanical design, inspection or code-compliance services.
Can you help with TSSA, Technical Safety BC or other licensing?
No. We name and link the provincial safety authorities so you know where to go, but licensing, permits and code questions belong with them.
Do you work with HVAC companies that also do boilers?
Yes, as long as boiler or hydronic work is something you want to grow. Many engagements are with mixed companies deciding how far to lean into boilers.
Do you meet in person?
Yes. Boiler owners can meet Ali in person or by video call, and the work also runs by phone, text, email and shared documents in every province and territory.
What do I need to prepare?
A rough split of last year's revenue between installs, service, parts and emergencies; your number of service customers; how many technicians can work on boilers unsupervised; and the decision you're trying to make.
Do you help with selling a boiler company?
Exit, valuation and succession questions are handled through Sedighi.ca and its exit brand BizSell.ca, separate from strategy work here. No legal or securities advice is given.
About cost and terms
Strategy engagements are scoped individually and quoted in writing. Marketing execution through HVAC.Agency has published prices, from $2,998 a month for plans and $3,500 for websites. GST/HST is added by province, and there's no lock-in on the marketing plans.
The reason strategy work isn't priced on a menu is that boiler companies differ a lot. A single-truck combi installer in a dense city needs different work from a multi-crew oil-boiler contractor covering several rural counties. The pricing page explains what drives cost and includes a worked example of how to check affordability against your own job margins.
About results
We don't promise outcomes, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. What we can do is show you real results from boiler businesses Ali built, explain what transferred and what didn't, and apply the same reasoning to your company.
Three boiler projects carry most of the evidence: CombiBoiler.ca reached 300% ROI with 300+ monthly leads; GasBoilers.ca, a gas-boiler division built for CANRO Heat, serves 26+ BC communities; and BoilerPart.ca grew organic traffic 180% across 2,000+ programmatic pages. The results page goes through each.
About what we do and don't do
We advise boiler company owners on business decisions: positioning, service revenue, emergency and parts strategy, technician capacity and where to grow. We don't touch equipment, visit sites, give compliance advice or interpret regulations.
When a question belongs with a provincial safety authority, an accountant, a lawyer or a licensed trade, we'll tell you plainly and, where we can, point you to the right body. The areas section lists the boiler and pressure-vessel authorities we were able to verify for each province and territory.
About getting started
Send a short message with your province, the decision you're weighing, and a rough idea of your revenue split. Ali reads it, replies with questions or a written scope, and the work starts only after you've agreed. The services page explains each strategy area if you'd like to read more first.
A note on agencies you've tried before
The most common story we hear is an owner who paid a general agency, received traffic reports, and saw few boiler jobs. That usually happens when the marketing isn't tied to job types, capacity and margin. Our first step is always to look at those numbers, so any marketing that follows is aimed at the work you actually want and can deliver.
Questions owners often forget to ask
A few questions rarely come up in a first message but make a real difference later:
- What happens to the work if I stop? Strategy deliverables are written documents you keep. For marketing carried out through HVAC.Agency, confirm in your proposal what you keep if you leave.
- Who answers when I have a follow-up question? Ali, by call, text or email, within the terms of your engagement.
- How do I know the plan suits my province? Every engagement starts from your region's fuel mix, boiler share and programs, summarised on the areas pages.
- What if my numbers are messy? That's common. Part of the first conversation is deciding which few figures matter enough to start tracking now.
Where to go next
If you're still deciding where to begin, the guides are a good next step: each one works through a real boiler-company decision with example figures, and you can follow them on your own before you talk to anyone. The specialist-versus-generalist guide is the usual starting point for owners who feel they're losing quotes on price.
